I Entered my 1951 Chevrolet in a Show ‘n Shine and Never Saw It Coming

by admin on November 30, 2008

My wife and I entered a local car cruise here in Reading, Michigan. It was put together by the local Sheriff by the name of Bill Fezzey. The Sheriff is a movie fan from way back, having a small part in the film “U”. A love of cars was grown slowly.

I entered my 1951 Chevrolet in the car show with the dream of taking home a prize. I spent four hours getting the Chevrolet. I had done my car history search on the Chevrolet by going over to vin number checker for a check at the accuracy of the car. Because of the detailed data there I found that my Chevrolet was a collector car!

I ended up taking home a first place trophy! | was in total shock that my little old Chevrolet drew so much attention. Next year I might go for a national championship.

Use Enterprise Car Rentals When You Travel

by plrpro on November 30, 2008

Enterprise Car Rentals Video

Some people don’t own an automobile.  Even in America it’s a fact.  When away from home people may need something to drive.  That’s when rental cars become important.  Enterprise is one of the most popular auto rental businesses.  The reason is Enterprise car rentals maintains its fleet well, and doesn’t charge an arm and a leg.

Enterprise can be found in every major city, as well as in not so major cities and townsChances are wherever you are there’s an Enterprise there. Compact cars, full size cars, sedans and coups are all there for the taking.  In some locations there are even convertible sports cars available.  Why not take advantage of the sun and weather especially when it can be expensed?  The rates are low.  $300 for the week is a real bargain for a car.  Do the math on this one. A person can commute to work every day via public transportation.  Use the low weekend rates to rent an auto for running around town.  For about $60 a week all the car needs are fulfilled.  Even a car lease can’t match the value of $3500 a year for auto use.

Enterprise also offers fleet management services to small businesses.  This includes any business that provides cars to employees such as sales businesses, or businesses with multiple locations where traveling supervisors or managers make visits.  Fleet management is complex.  The cars much be purchased, maintained, and all the legalities such as insurance and registration apply to fleet cars too.  When a car becomes too worn for use it must be replaced.  A successful business sticks to its business, not to extras like a fleet of cars.  Enterprise to the rescue.

When cars are done with their rental life, Enterprise offers them for sale.  Enterprise maintains their vehicles well.  That’s not in sync with the stereotype of a hard used rental car.  Car renters do care about the cars because companies like Enterprise charge penalties for damage and misuse.  Maintenance is regular, too.  Many private owners don’t do that, and those are the used cars that end up at most dealerships.

Enterprise car rentals are a very complex undertaking, aren’t they?

Electric Car Facts

by plrpro on November 30, 2008

It appears that nowadays everyone is debating green energies and there are so many different facts being thrown about in terms of electric-powered cars.  First, there are many types of electric cars you can choose from, but all of them use an electric motor that runs on batteries that you recharge.  The more batteries you have, the longer you can drive your car.  Keep reading for further facts on electric cars.

What people love about electric cars is the fact that the greenhouse gases are much lower and they are very clean compared to other types of automotive.

How far can you drive on an electric car’s charge?  The good news is that electric cars are more than capable of driving 100 mils on a charge.  The batteries generally need charged overnight and there is a gauge that can tell you how much power you have left.  They are perfectly fine for city driving and those who don’t have to go long distances on a regular basis.

Some people believe that an electric car can’t go very fast. But the fact is that electric cars have been clocked at over one hundred miles per hour and can go from zero to that in less than nine seconds!

There are many more facts to be found out about electric cars such as their price, their range, their availability, and their benefits.  Finding out these facts is easy.  There are so many car manufacturers now that produce cars that can run on both gas and electricitiy, however if you want one that is 100% electric then you will need to do a bit more shopping around.  There are of course other types of fuel that are being used in cars such as biodiesel and bioethanol but there is so much debate about them all and whether or not that are effective.  What we know for sure is that scientists around the world are working very hard to come up with the perfect solution for our motoring and environmental needs.  If you would like further information on environmetally friendly cars then here are a couple of links: Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Ethanol as Fuel.

Living with a 1967 Audi Old Car and Missing out on Great Insurance While Enjoying Your Vacation

by admin on November 29, 2008

I’ve had too much fun to mention :).
Roseann and I have depended on our 1967 Audi now for just about 3 years. The general feeling is we’ve been living well with the car. Our house is in western Texas, near Ingleside, and we enjoy driving the car during the summer months. Our opinion is I’d say it’s a brilliant toy for the money.

Almost from the minute we received the Audi we’ve been on the road. We drove to visit my wife’s college roommate in Oregon several times with no problems whatsoever. The Audi does great on gas and has not given us many problems in terms of maintenance.

The Audi is in fine condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken excellent care of the car over the past twenty-two years. Our previous car, a BMW, had plenty of heartaches and we weren’t depressed to get rid of it.

It was made clear to me to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our antique collector car insurance we went with a company called DeMarey Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on antique cars. It’s an authority site for finding the best price on muscle car insurance. We insured the Audi for 30% of what Prudential wanted.

The antique car insurance was just in time because within a month of getting it we were involved in a horrible accident with a Alfa Romeo. The accident totalled both cars. Our DeMarey Insurance insurance agent got ahold of us and let us know the car would be repaired! It was a relief because of our love to the car.

The value of the car has gone up a lot over the past two years to our surprise. It’s hard to believe we paid $24,000 for the car back in 1998. Now it’s worth at least $40,000! We’ve been offered this much several times this year. My spouse is very excited!

Go out and find that special classic car Go out and don’t hesitate, there’s a world of good priced Audis out there. Buy a Audi now before the price goes up! You won’t be sorry.

True Story: My 1956 Oldsmobile in a Show ‘n Shine and Had a Blast

by admin on November 29, 2008

My friend and I entered a club run car cruise here in Moberly, Missouri. It was run by the local Judge by the name of Nick Hunter. The Judge is a motorhead from way back, having a small part in the film “I Cream with Genie (V)”. A love of cars was grown slowly.

I entered my 1956 Oldsmobile in the cruise with the intention of having a good time. I spent four hours getting the Oldsmobile. I had done my vin search on the Oldsmobile by going over to VIN checker for a check at the accuracy of the car. Based on the excellent information I found that my Oldsmobile was highly collectible!

My car won Best of Show! | was completely amazed still in shock that my little old Oldsmobile had been named a star of the show. Next year I might enter it in a state-wide show.

Buy Used Cars Online

by plrpro on November 29, 2008

Buy Used Cars Online Video

People love to buy used cars online.  It used to be a real chore to buy a used vehicle.  The experience included slick salesmen with slicked back hair making you feel like you’ve been cheated even after making what seemed to be a decent buy.  But now it’s no travel required to make a used car buy.

There are almost too many information and used car sales sites to choose the good ones.  Kelly Blue book, for example, gives expected sales prices for autos in various conditions.  This makes evaluating the offer a lot simpler.  MSN autos, even eBay motors also have a lot of valuable tips for used car purchases.  Don’t forget the new car dealers.  They have to do something with the cars people trade in when they buy a new vehicle.  Dealers provide detailed lists of all the used cars they’re selling.  Mechanics who can inspect the car are also needed.  The Internet is full of sites that list mechanics by region.  These inspections can even be done so that the buyer doesn’t have to be present.

Then there’s the financing.  Save up to pay cash for the car, and keep in mind the price is important.  Come armed with information if you do plan to buy over time.  Online payment calculators can spit out the monthly payment based on used car price, down payment amount, trade in, interest rate and even other factors such as insurance premiums.  Use those calculators as a general guideline as to whether the used car fits in the budget.  Make sure never to go to the lot or even complete an online purchase unless your financing is already in order.  Have the loan already guaranteed for an amount you intend to spend, then pay that as cash.

Yes times have changed.  Modern tools simplify many tasks.  At its heart purchasing used cars online isn’t a lot different than the shady car lot.  Use the tools found on the web.  Then the day the car is purchased can be a happy one.

The Value Of Honda Automobiles

by plrpro on November 29, 2008

Honda Automobiles Video

Believe it or not, but Honda makes some of the best cars in the world.  Consumers reward that by making Honda automobiles the most purchased cars in many classes.  Top standards in manufacturing and top quality engineering mark these cars.  Even some more pricey cars in the same class don’t surpass them.  Quality and reliability describe Honda well.

The Civic is one of Honda’s excellent vehicles.  With models from a sedan to a coupe and even a hybrid version, many people purchase and drive this model.  The more basic models cost around $15,000, with the hybrid topping the price chart at around $23,000.  The Civic is also tops in gas mileage.  They range from 36MPG up to 46MPG for the hybrid version.  Because of the necessity to replace the battery, the hybrid still ends up being more expensive over time.

This car also has one of the best resale values around.  It’s also a pleasant surprise when the offer comes for a trade in.  For someone who follows the maintenance schedule, it’s realistic to spend only a few thousands dollars every few years for a new Civic.  There’s no better deal for folks who like new cars.

Often, folks aren’t looking to sell.  The same features that make resale value so high also make this car a good candidate for long term service.  The key again is proper maintenance.  The Civic can run for 20 or more years if it’s well cared for.  That’s a long time for a well running car.  It becomes a friend, not just a tool.  There are better ways to spend money than buying cars every few years.

People also like the Honda Element.  There’s a lot of value packed into this smaller SUV.  It has features that lend itself to the type of SUV adventurous people need.  Most of the interior is rubber, along with cloth seats and a plastic dash.  At first this seems to scream cheap, but there’s a method to the madness.  The interior is designed to be easy to clean.  Feel free to let the kids get in when they’re muddy, you can wash it down with a hose.  Yup, that was hose  That can’t be done if the dash is fancy wood.

The popularity of Honda automobiles is well placed.  Their quality creates that popularity.  Whether looking for a new or used car, consider a vehicle from Honda.People also like the Honda Element.  This small sized SUV is a real bargain.  Adventurous people find this car a perfect fit.  The dash is plastic, the seats are cloth, and the interior is rubber.  At first this seems to scream cheap, but there’s a method to the madness.  Easy cleaning was the goal.  Feel free to let the kids get in when they’re muddy, you can wash it down with a hose.  Your eyes aren’t deceiving you, yes a hose  That can’t be done if the dash is fancy wood.

Honda cars are popular for a reason.  Their quality creates that popularity.  Whether looking for a new or used car, consider a vehicle from Honda.

1973 Was a Good Year For hot rod : Or Enjoying History in My Classic Car

by admin on November 28, 2008

The classic car of your dreams is out there Go out and don’t hesitate, there’s a world of quality hot rods out there. Buy a hot rod now before the price goes up! You won’t be sorry.

Winter is soon upon us.
Billie and I have owned our 1973 hot rod now for almost 11 years. Overall we’ve been very happy with the car. Our condo is in upper Missouri, near Goodman, and we love driving in the car during the hotter months. Our opinion is I’d say it’s a great car for the money.

During the time we’ve owned the hot rod we’ve been driving up a storm. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my wife’s brother in Vermont numerous times with no problems whatsoever. The hot rod does poorly on gas and has not given us alot issues in terms of service.

The hot rod is in good condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken good care of it over the past twenty-one years. Our previous car, a Infiniti, had plenty of headaches and we weren’t depressed to unload it.

It was stressed to me to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our classic auto insurance we went with a company called American Hobbyist Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on antique cars. It’s an awesome resource for finding the best offer on muscle car insurance. We insured the hot rod for half of what Nationwide wanted.

We’ve very happy with our hot rod. While 1973 was not freshest in my memory, our car helps us enjoy those days.
