Robert and I have lived with our 1972 El Dorado now for just about 3 years. I’m glad to report we’ve been thrilled with the car. Our condo is in western Iowa, near Franklin, and we love touring in the car during the warmer months. Our opinion is I’d say it’s a particlarly great toy for the money.
From the day we picked up the El Dorado we’ve been behind the wheel. We drove to visit my college roommate in Vermont many times over the year. The El Dorado does fair on gas and has not given us alot issues in terms of service.
The El Dorado is in good condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past 18 years. Our previous car, a Roewe, had plenty of headaches and we weren’t depressed to sell it off.
It was made clear to me to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our muscle car insurance we went with a company called Hagerty. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on insurance reviews. It’s a cool place for finding the best deal on classic car insurance. We insured the El Dorado for a fraction of what Nationwide wanted.
We’ve very happy with our El Dorado. While 1972 was a long time ago, our car helps us redo those days.
