We’re already looking forward to next year.
Carmen and I have relied on our 1973 Firebird now for nearly 4 years. In that time we’ve been very happy with the car. The condo is in rural Texas, near Cee Vee, and we enjoy driving in the car during the hotter months. My opinion is I’d say it’s a stunning vehicle for the money.
From the day we picked up the Firebird we’ve been all over the country. We took it out for a spin to see my wife’s college roommate in Montana several times without any issues. The Firebird does fair on gas and has not given us alot problems in terms of maintenance.
The Firebird is in driving condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken good care of it over the past twenty years. Our previous car, a Saturn, had plenty of issues and we weren’t depressed to unload it.
The first order of the day was to insure the vehicle. For our antique car insurance we went with a company called Haggerty. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on car insurance. It’s a cool place for finding the best offer on insurance for antique cars. We insured the Firebird for a sliver of what Geico wanted.
The insurance reviews was just in time because within a month of getting it we were involved in a horrible accident with a Chevrolet. The accident totalled both cars. Our Haggerty insurance agent reached out and let us know the car would be gotten back to us without problems! It was a relief because of our investment to the car.
The value of the car has gone up a lot over the past three years to our surprise. It’s hard to believe we paid $13,000 for the car back in 1995. Now it’s worth at least $35,000! We’ve been offered this much several times this year. My wife is very excited!
Now is the time to find a car you enjoy! Go out and don’t hesitate, there’s a world of good condition Firebirds out there. Buy a Firebird now before the price goes up! You won’t be sorry.
