Most Favourite Celebrity Cars

by plrpro on July 29, 2009

The fashion industry has taught us to get on our tiptoes at every celebrity’s twist and turn on the red carpet and casual shopping trips. Trying to choose a dress for your hen night? Check out what Julia Roberts or Charlize Theron wore lately. Thinking of buying a new pair of jeans? Surf the web to see what Gisele Bundchen and Sienna Miller have been sporting. Dying for that unique image? You need to look no further than Kate Moss, or, if you want some variety, spy on Pixie Geldof or Agyness Deyn.

We turn to celebrities not just for their dresses, but also for their make-up, cosmetics, and jewellery they wear or promote. Fashion, beauty and accessory industries have long recognised and harnessed the power of actors and actresses, singers and politicians to enhance the designer lines and strengthen the brand. The automotive industry has been lagging slightly behind for an obvious reason. It may be possible to find a high-street replica of an haute couture dress, but a budget replica of a multi-million dollar Bugatti? Not in this world.

Still, this should not stop us from looking at what car makes and models have been the most sought after in the celebrity world.

Ferrari and Mercedes Benz are clearly the top celebrity cars. Everyone’s favourite sport car versus a long-established giant – which would you choose? In the ideal world, you could have both, of course, and you would drive them as and when appropriate. Kelly Osbourne and Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox and Eva Pigford show their support of the Mercedes Benz brand. Beyonce Knowles is feeling comfortable in the halo of her SLR McLaren model (that is while the hubby is driving a Maybach; for your information, a luxurious and spacious Maybach 62 S Laundalet costs no less than $1.38 million). Britney Spears also wears Mercedes colours when she drives her convertible, and the singer Wyclef Jean (who never really knew that Shakira could dance) is a proud owner of a custom-made Mercedes Benz car.

Among the most famous Ferrari lovers are the actor Ben Stiller; the fashion models Fabio Lanzoni (who recently added a Ferrari car crash to his heartthrob’s fame) and Kim Kardashian; and the rapper Ryan Shecklet. The late actor Steve McQueen (of the original Thomas Crown’s Affair fame) was also an avid Ferrari fan, possessing a 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso model.

The third favourite celebrity car appears to be the Audi. In spite of the recent advertising knock-down from BMW, the make is popular among a string of celebrities, including the New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, Jude Law, Gisele Bundchen, and Jessica Biel.

Other celebrity-friendly car makes include Lexus (Sienna Miller drives Lexus GS), Range Rover (Kate Moss’s baby), and Dodge (favoured by none other but the California governor). Bentley Continental GT is driven by the Osbournes and Paris Hilton (who plans to spend a handsome sum of money encrusting the pink car’s dashboard with diamonds).

Finally, there is a dream of the dreams: a Lamborghini. At one time a yellow Lamborghini was the penultimate vision for a funky driver. Mike Tyson owns a Lamborghini model; and a NBA player Willie Green runs a Lamborghini Diablo. In one country, however, the ordinary folks have joined the celebrities’ ranks when Lamborghini Gallardo models were presented to the Italian Polizia. Although, on second thoughts, the police are very special folks who absolutely deserve high speed, ultra-stylish cars to crawl the Italian terrain.

1967 Was a Good Year For Dart : Or My Nightly Cruise in My Collector Car

by admin on July 28, 2009

Go out and find that special classic car Go out and don’t hesitate, there’s a world of cheap Darts out there. Buy a Dart now before the price goes up! You won’t be sorry.

I can’t believe we have to put our baby away for the winter.
Jean and I have relied on our 1967 Dart now for I think 11 years. Truth be told we’ve been very happy with the car. We live in western Mississippi, near Pontotoc, and we enjoy driving in the car during the summer months. Our opinion is I’d say it’s a stunning ride for the money.

Almost from the minute we received the Dart we’ve been on the road. We drove to visit my wife’s sister in New York numerous times over the year. The Dart does fair on gas and has not given us alot issues in terms of service.

The Dart is in fine condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken excellent care of the car over the past twenty years. Our previous car, a Troller, had plenty of issues and we weren’t sad to get rid of it.

We made sure we went to insure the vehicle. For our antique car insurance online quotes we went with a company called CHROME Specialty Car Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on antique car insurance. It’s a cool place for finding the best offer on classic car insurance. We insured the Dart for half of what Nationwide wanted.

It was a good investment purchasing our Dart. While 1967 was just a blur to me, our car helps us redo those days.

Living with a 1973 Firebird Collectible Car and Going Crazy While Learning a Thing or Two

by admin on July 28, 2009

It’s been a great year.
Anthony and I have depended on our 1973 Firebird now for probably 8 years. Overall we’ve been thrilled with the car. The condo is in eastern Georgia, near Bowens Mill, and we love driving in the car during the warmer months. Overall I’d say it’s a great vehicle for the money.

Ever since we bought the Firebird we’ve been driving up a storm. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my aunt in Oregon numerous times over the year. The Firebird does well on gas and has not given us many problems in terms of repair.

The Firebird is in good condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken excellent care of the car over the past twenty-two years. Our previous car, a Volvo, had plenty of problems and we weren’t unhappy to scrap it.

It was very important to insure the vehicle. For our hagarty antique car insurance we went with a company called CHROME Specialty Car Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on old cars. It’s a cool place for finding the best offer on insurance for antique cars. We insured the Firebird for 30% of what Geico wanted.

The classic cars was just in time because within a month of getting it we were involved in a horrible accident with a Xiali. The accident totalled both cars. Our CHROME Specialty Car Insurance insurance agent got ahold of us and let us know the car would be completely restored! It was a relief because of our love to the car.

The value of the car has gone up a lot over the past two years to our surprise. It’s hard to believe we paid $18,000 for the car back in 1996. Now it’s worth at least $30,000! We’ve been offered this much several times this year. My significant other is very excited!

Now is the time to find a car you enjoy! Go out and don’t hesitate, there’s a world of quality Firebirds out there. Buy a Firebird now before the price goes up! You won’t regret it.

Scrappage scheme has no effect yet as car sales drop by 25%

by plrpro on July 28, 2009

UK sales of new cars were down by a quarter in May compared to the same time last year, despite the government’s introduction of a £300m scrappage scheme to encourage buyers back into the new car market. Figures show a total drop in sales of 24.8%, the 13th month in a row that sales have fallen.

The total number of vehicles sold from January – May 2009 was 289,958, a worrying drop of 27.9% compared to the same time last year. The recession has affected the motoring industry more than any other, and car manufacturers have had to resort to drastic measures to keep their heads above water. The constant decline in sales has caused many manufacturers such as Nissan, Vauxhall, Honda and Ford to temporarily suspend production in their UK factories and many employees have found themselves out of work as jobs have been cut.

The government have implemented a new scrappage scheme to address the problem, which gives potential buyers a £2000 incentive to scrap old cars registered before 1999 and buy a new one instead. Granted, £2000 is not going to enable you to trade in an old banger and buy a new Mercedes Benz, but it’s a step in the right direction and more than 35,000 orders have been put in so far, though the result of this is yet to be seen in the sales figures. This does not mean the scrappage scheme has failed however, as it only launched on the 18th May and the positive effect on car sales cannot be expected to be visible already. The idea is that the project will help to restore consumer confidence and lead to rise in sales from June.

In spite of the car industry’s troubles there is one niche market that is still proving a huge success. The ‘mini’ segment grew by 50% in May, suggesting that consumers would rather buy a Nissan Micra, a Mini or a Ford Fiesta than a fuel-guzzling sports car or a people carrier. Smaller city cars are a far better choice for people with a tight budget as they are more fuel efficient and cheaper to buy in the first place.

1971 Was a Good Year For Dart : Or Enjoying History in My Custom Car

by admin on July 27, 2009

The classic car of your dreams is out there Go out and don’t hesitate, there’s a world of good condition Darts out there. Buy a Dart now before the price goes up! You won’t be sorry.

I can’t believe we have to put our baby away for the winter.
Justin and I have relied on our 1971 Dart now for nearly nine years. I’m glad to report we’ve been very happy with the car. The house is in urban North Dakota, near Loraine, and we love driving the car during the warmer months. Overall I’d say it’s an excellent vehicle for the money.

From the day we picked up the Dart we’ve been all over the country. We took it out for a spin to see my wife’s mother in New Mexico numerous times without any issues. The Dart does fair on gas and has not given us a lot problems in terms of service.

The Dart is in driving condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past 20 years. Our previous car, a Chevrolet, had plenty of breakdowns and we weren’t unhappy to get rid of it.

The first order of the day was to get insurance on the vehicle. For our classic car auto insurance we went with a company called Hagerty. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on classic car insurance. It’s a cool place for finding the lowest cost on insurance for collector cars. We insured the Dart for a fraction of what State Farm wanted.

We’ve very happy with our Dart. While 1971 was a completely different age for cars, our car helps us redo those feelings.

Buying An Automobile

by plrpro on July 27, 2009

The year we turn 16 is a special one for all of us. This is the year we are finally considered grown up (at least to some extent) by our families and the law, because this is the year we are allowed or given the privilege of being able to drive. And all that means just one thing… finally, we can own our very own car!  If purchasing an MGB, then check out the MGB windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop.

The problem with financing a car is that you do have to put quite a lot of effort into it. Financing a car can be done through your own savings (which again brings back the points of hard work and commitment) or it could be through a loan from your family, your company, a bank or some other third party. If you can manage it, financing a car with your own savings is really something to boast about. Saving up all that cash to pay for the first down payment of your car will mean that you can show to the world that not only are you the proud owner of your own set of wheels, you got to this level because you worked for it.  Like we said, be sure to check out the MGB windscreen windblocker windstop wind deflector.

Financing a car through a loan from your parents or company or another third party is also something that happens a lot. Most of the time, parents are willing to help out with financing a car if it’s your first. Working in a company for more than a certain number of years mean that you are eligible to apply and receive a loan from that company for the reason of financing a car, and a stipulated amount will be cut off from your monthly salary for a certain number of months until the loan is paid off. Usually this kind of loan comes with interest, but it’s normally at quite a reasonable rate. Loans or leases from banks are a whole other kettle of fish. Interest rates cause the biggest difficulties when financing a car through banks. Banks usually charge pretty high interest rates (which have only risen higher in the present economic situation), and so if you are financing a car through these means you will end up paying the bank almost double the amount of the loan or lease you have received.  Lastly, do check out the BMW Z4 windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop.

As with all other things, think about all your options available and decide on which suits your pocket, lifestyle and budget the best. And enjoy your car!

Living with a 1969 Porsche Collector Car and Traveling the Country While Enjoying Your Vacation

by admin on July 26, 2009

Time has flown this car-driving season.
Laura and I have counted on our 1969 Porsche now for around seven years. In that time we’ve been thrilled with the car. We live in upper Georgia, near Dublin, and we love driving the car during the spring months. My opinion is I’d say it’s a stunning car for the money.

From the day we picked up the Porsche we’ve been on the road. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my wife’s relatives in Vermont numerous times with no problems whatsoever. The Porsche does poorly on gas and has not given us alot issues in terms of service.

The Porsche is in great shape, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past 20 years. Our previous car, a Chrysler, had plenty of breakdowns and we weren’t unhappy to scrap it.

We made sure we went to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our classic car insurance safeco we went with a company called Classic Collectors Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on muscle car insurance. It’s a cool place for finding the best offer on antique car insurance. We insured the Porsche for a sliver of what Nationwide wanted.

The insurance reviews was just in time because within a month of getting it we were involved in a horrible accident with a Saab. The accident totalled both cars. Our Classic Collectors Insurance insurance agent reached us and let us know the car would be completely restored! It was a relief because of our fondness to the car.

The value of the car has gone up a lot over the past 3 years to our surprise. It’s hard to believe we paid $25,000 for the car back in 2000. Now it’s worth at least $40,000! We’ve been offered this much several times this year. My wife is very excited!

Go out and find that special classic car Go out and don’t hesitate, there’s a world of cheap Porsches out there. Buy a Porsche now before the price goes up! You won’t be sorry.
