Most people think it’s not easy to book a flight in South Africa. The Airline industry in SA is so up to date flights can be booked using the internet or make reservations by phone.
There are 5 Airlines that operate within the country i.e.
· Mango
· 1Time
· South African Airways
· British Airways
· Kulula
Based on the research that I’ve conducted there are about 144 routes available locally. This is from a combination of “to and from” all the airports in the country. Some of these airports are;
· Johannesburg (JNB)
· Cape Town (CPT)
· Durban (DUR)
· Port Elizabeth (PLZ)
· George (GRJ)
· Bloemfontein (BFN)
· Kimberley (KIM)
· East London (ELS)
· Hoedspruit (HDS)
· Nelspruit (NLP)
Cape Town to Johannesburg
You can book Mango, which leaves Cape Town at 05:45 and takes about two hours to Johannesburg. Alternatively you could use 1 Time which will leave Cape Town at 06.45 hrs and arrive in Johannesburg at 08.45 hr.
The South African Airways leaves at 06:00 and gets to OR Tambo at 08:00.This and British Airways are the most expensive flights in the country. The latter lives Cape Town at 08:40 and takes two hours to get to Joburg.
Most of the time Johannesburg is the centre of all the flights in South Africa. Considering most of the routes locally you will see that they go via Johannesburg. For example, the British Airways flies from Durban to Nelspruit via Johannesburg. In fact the British Airways is the one with most stops in Joburg. Whilst the other flights have direct flights in between the different destinations across the country.
