1973 Was a Good Year For Buick : Or Enjoying History in My Vintage Auto

by admin on December 31, 2009

Now is the time to find a car you enjoy! Go out and don’t hesitate, there’s a world of cheap Buicks out there. Buy a Buick now before the price goes up! You won’t regret it.

I’ve had too much fun to mention :).
Terri and I have owned our 1973 Buick now for just about nine years. For that length of time we’ve been living well with the car. The house is in urban West Virginia, near White Sulphur Springs, and we love driving in the car during the warmer months. Overall I’d say it’s a brilliant car for the money.

Almost from the minute we received the Buick we’ve been on the road. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my uncle in New Mexico many times over the year. The Buick does well on gas and has not given us many issues in terms of maintenance.

The Buick is in perfect shape, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken excellent care of the car over the past twenty years. Our previous car, a Lada, had plenty of breakdowns and we weren’t unhappy to unload it.

It was made clear to me to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our allstate classic car insurance we went with a company called Sneed Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on muscle car insurance. It’s an authority site for finding the best deal on collector car insurance. We insured the Buick for half of what Prudential wanted.

It was a good investment purchasing our Buick. While 1973 was ages ago, our car helps us redo those feelings.

Driving Laws

by plrpro on December 31, 2009

There are so many things that you are not allowed to do when you are about driving, some of these things are quite fair whereas others have been argued.

Drink Driving

This is the obvious one and has been in place for many years now. You will get an immediate fine for this and also have your driving license taken away from you on the scene so just don’t do it. If you have had a few drinks then the best piece of advice to give you is just do not risk it. The best thing to do is just walk as if you do not you could hurt or even kill someone.

Using Mobile Phone

If you are thinking about using a mobile phone here in the UK you will have to use a hands free set or you may risk losing your license. This will also include texting, tweeting and Facebook so you have no excuses anymore. Texting means that you have to look away from the road and onto the phone which is actually a major reason why people crash. 1 in 10 people actually tweet whilst they are driving which is really bad.

There are things that are still currently legal to do and they include eating, drinking non alcoholic beverages and smoking. Things like this also need to be stopped, I do not agree that it is fair but it could save lives if they are put into place so it could be worthwhile. It does not take much effort and time to pull over and have a bite to eatq. Stop at the burger joint to eat rather than taking it with you.

If you are thinking about getting a car then why not look into getting Alfa Romeo car leasing or perhaps even Aston Martin Car Lease. Lease purchase is an affordable way of getting a new car.

Bad Car Movies

by plrpro on December 31, 2009

This is a list of some of the worst films ever to come into existance featuring cars. Many of them have done okay in the box office but in my personal opinion are just rubbish.

Herbie: Fully Loaded

This film took reinvented the Herbie franchise and was released in 2005 and starred Lindsay Lohan, Justin Long and Michael Keaton. The reason why it is on the list is simply because it couldn’t possibly touch the original films and although it may significant profit and won Lohan an award it just wasn’t up to the standards that it should have been.

Fast and Furious

Although there are so many people that love these films and think they are the best car films out there I will say I have to disagree and I think they are all rubbish. The film really only encourages people to pimp up really bad cars in a really bad way. The storyline to all of these films is dull and samey and always ends up in a very rubbish race near the end. None of the films have received any critical appraisals but all have done very well in the box office for some reason.

The Italian Job- Remake

The Italian Job is something that should not have been remade, the film was a cult classic and even trying to touch it was a pretty pointless thing to do. They are even thinking about making a sequel to this film which is just not going to work at all so they should not even do it.

In all seriousness, if you are actually considering getting a car then it may be worth looking into car leasing or van leasing as it can actually prove to be a cheaper way of doing things. When it comes to purchasing a vehicle it can always be a good idea for you to look at all of the options that are available. For specific manufactures why not try BMW Leasing.

Forza 3

by plrpro on December 30, 2009

Forza 3 was released in October and it seems fitting to start to talk about why this game is so good and what made it so.

Forza 3 is of course a follow up to the Forza and Forza 2 games and features over 400 cars which can all be customised built from 50 manufacturers as well as holding over 100 race track variations from across the world. The polygons put into each car have increased 10 times since the last Forza edition.

The New Bits

Apart from the graphics and the hundreds of cars that have been added into the game, there are other new improvements within the game too. The in car driving view is a welcome add on to the game and has proved to be the best method of driving around in my case. As well as this you can have full vehicle rollovers with details on the undercarriages along with one button assisted driving. Real simulation drifting and SUVs have been added into the series too. It is possible to paint all of the cars in the game as well as being able to create your very own videos to put onto the Forza Site.

The game itself comes with two discs but can be all be played on the first. The reason the second disc is there is because it contains 104 extra cars and a few extra tracks. The new season mode features a personal racing calendar that includes over 200 events including oval, circuit, drift, drag and timed events. Apprently no two calenders will ever be the same.

In reality a car does not always have to be expensive, Honda Car Lease can be a good way to do things.  This can also be done in the form of Audi leasing as well as leasing vans.

Theme Park Rides Featuring Cars (Part 2)

by plrpro on December 30, 2009

So carrying on with the list of top theme park rides that feature cars comes the second and final part of the list, enjoy!

Rip-Ride Rocket

This coaster is brand new this year and I was there for the launch and it rocks. The custom-designed attraction allows the riders to actually pick their very own soundtrack to listen to when they are riding the attraction itself. 167ft is how big the vertical lift is which actually makes it the tallest in the Orlando Area. The vertical loop on this ride is very strange indeed and it features six near misses and can have four trains operating at the same time. You will certainly be thrown around a bit on this ride which is why you should not ride unless you love roller coasters. For a small price at the end you can purchase a video as the ride actually records the entire experience for you so you can post it wherever you like.

Rock n Roller Coaster

This coaster can be found in Disney’s Hollywood studios in both Florida and France it in opened originally in 1999 in the Florida Park. It is located right next to the Tower Of Terror. The coaster accelerates from 0 to 60 in just 2.8 seconds which makes it very close to being the fastest ride in the entire Walt Disney World Resort and the rider can experience 4.5g as they go into the very first inversion. it may be hard to believe but this is more than an astronaut does on a space shuttle lunch. As with most Disney attractions there is a introduction video at the start and a gift shop featuring all things Aerosmith at the end.

Those are just a few of the best theme park attractions that have cars as the main ride. In reality getting a car can actually be very expensive which is why you could look out for a cheap Volkswagen Golf or look for Chrysler car lease.A smaller model could be what you are after so look for Fiat car leasing.
